Kabbadi

Kabaddi has become a symbol of Indian culture, promoting indigenous sports and celebrating rural traditions. The sport has helped shed light on the importance of physical activity and has provided a new direction to the Indian sports industry. Since Kabaddi is mainly a game that requires a lot of physical effort and energy, playing this game will help people to be fit and healthy. They will also learn about endurance and defences from breath holding and movement. Kabaddi requires remarkable physical fitness, agility, muscular strength, neuromuscular coordination, lung capacity, intelligence and clearness of mind for both attackers and defenders. It aids in strengthening the body muscles. It helps us to be adaptable. It contributes to stress reduction and physical fitness maintenance. It improves strength and speed, which helps athletes perform better in their particular sports. The game improves endurance, focus, and hand-eye coordination. Kabaddi is all about physical strength and focus. While considering all these facts, Christ College, Puliyanmala had started a Kabaddi Club since its inception in 2014. We started the club with one Faculty in charge and two students interested in this sport in the initial phase but now this club embodies two Faculty Co-ordinators and Student Representatives, and members not less than 40. Student representatives are elected in every academic year and they are conducting meetings every month in the presence of Faculty Co-ordinators and thereby encourage our students to participate in intracollege, intercollege and University matches under the guidance of College Sports Co-ordinator. Kabaddi is a sport that teaches a mix of strength, agility and tactics, which every young healthy student must have in his life of exploration.
