Abel Jacob is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at Christ College, Kattappana. He holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) with specialization in Clinical and Community Practice from Christ (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru. His academic interests include mental health, psychosocial assessment, counselling, community development, social work research, psychological well-being, and meaning-making. As part of his postgraduate research, he conducted a cross-cultural study on religiosity and psychological well-being among youth in India and Germany, examining the relationship between religious orientation and dimensions of psychological well-being. He completed a semester at Katho University Münster, Germany, which enriched his understanding of cross-cultural social work practices and international mental health frameworks. He has practical experience in healthcare and community settings and is committed to integrating teaching, research, and community engagement in social work education.
